Highclere Castle is an amazing venue for your winter wedding photography. This beautiful backdrop set in the heart of the Berkshire countryside is perfect for castle weddings at any time of year. This venue is the backdrop for the ITV’s tv series Downton Abbey. New Year’s Eve I travelled down to berkshire for the wedding of Yukiko and Alex. They had booked me for a full days coverage of their day a full 16 hours. On the morning of New Years day I had a good look round the venue before meeting up with Yukiko who was getting ready in one of the grand rooms of the Castle. As the wedding was late on in the day we had decided to shoot the portraits prior to the service to make the best use of the light. Alex had made his way up to the castle to meet with Yukiko, this was an amazing moment when they first saw each other. We then did some quick portraits both inside and out which took minutes. I then headed over to the The Church of The Ascension which was set in the small village of Burghclere which was just down the road. After the service we headed back up the road to Highclere where we spent the rest of the day, which was very relaxed. Fireworks were put on later in the evening followed by lots of dancing. Below are some images of the day.
