The Guild of Photographers’ Wedding Image of the Year Competition is always a fiercely contested affair with hundreds of amazing images submitted to this category over the space of 12 months.
So, it’s a great honour to announce that one of my wedding photographs has been selected as Wedding Image of the Year Runner-Up for 2018 – presented at the Guild’s Awards night at Crewe Hall in February.
The Guild is the UK’s highly regarded national photographic body whose members are dedicated to enhancing their skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.
In 2018, the Guild’s Image of the Month competition received around 13,000 entries, so to be placed second overall is a brilliant achievement.
The photo features the daughter of one of the bridesmaids at Laura and Joe’s wedding in Staffordshire last August. Here it is again….
Their wonderful wedding was shot at Iscoyd Park, a private country house wedding and events venue on the borders of North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire.
Steve Thirsk, director of the Guild, described my image as ‘striking’, commenting: “The Guild has very demanding standards when judging photographic competitions. The judging is undertaken by a panel of internationally recognised experts from a variety of photographic backgrounds, so Ryan Browne quite rightly should be delighted with this extraordinary achievement.”
I certainly am!
