Nikki and Tim chose the splendour of Ripon Cathedral for their wedding ceremony. The beautiful market town of Ripon, which borders the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Mores, has the cathedral standing proudly in its centre. As one of the most stunning ceremony venues in the country Ripon Cathedral has a history stretching back almost fourteen centuries. This truly beautiful historical building provided me with a spectacular backdrop for shots. I managed to grab some amazing images both inside and out. A highlight for me was when we were able to take full advantage of the golden hour when the cathedral was bathed in light. Moments like this are a photographer’s dream, which is why I always jump at the chance when offered to shoot a Ripon Cathedral Wedding.
Nikki and Tim met ten years ago at secondary school and whilst are both teachers living and working in London they chose to return home to get married. Nikki looked amazing in her Benjamin Roberts dressed, complimented by her Jimmy Choo shoes. Maid of honour Alli Callaghan and bridesmaids Jessica and Amy took good care of Nikki and Best Man Alex Edney was on hand to look after Tim. Groomsmen David, Leo and Mike performed their duties diligently and the couple were married by Canon Paul Greenwell.
After the ceremony it was across the road to the Old Deanery Hotel for the reception. Beautifully located opposite the cathedral The Old Deanery is an ideal wedding venue for Ripon Cathedral Weddings. The Old Deanery was built in 1625 on the site of part of the former monastery of St Wilfred, for use by the Canon-in –Residence. It has a warm and intimate atmosphere and as well as luxurious interiors it boasts attractive terraced gardens with a backdrop of weeping willows all of which add a pretty charm to this historic and stylish building.
A breath-taking wedding ceremony followed by a stylish yet warm and intimate reception. Congratulations to Nikki and Tim for getting married and creating such a memorable day for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember.
