Getting ready to pop the question this year? A marriage proposal photo shoot is the perfect way to capture that special moment he or she says yes.
Although a wedding is always the main event, a proposal is actually a momentous occasion too – that one time when it’s just about you and your partner.
You might have spent days, weeks or months planning the perfect proposal, but that moment when you get down on one knee can fly by in an instant.
But the nervous excitement in the proposer’s face or the way the person being proposed to always covers their mouth in shock are what memories are made of.
To secretly capture your proposal on camera, it is important to use a photographer who specialises in being discreet.
I photographed a marriage proposal at Swinton Park in North Yorkshire – a 200-acre estate with a landscape park laid out in the 1760s.
One of the loveliest features in the gardens is the Coffin Pond with its stunning colours and nature gracing the waters, a stone bridge and Saxon stone coffins laid out beside the boathouse.
This is the place where Conor decided he wanted to propose to Francesca.
I made my way to a spot beside the coffin pond, hid in the bushes and waited for the couple to come along. I stayed hidden until after he popped the question.
The result is a great sequence of images and I am delighted to reveal that she did say yes!
If you want to create an amazing proposal for you partner, it’s not as difficult as you may think. Just a beautiful intimate moment in a beautiful location.
