Swinton Park Wedding Photography: Persia meets Yorkshire

There may have been lots of rain when Rammina and Chris got married at Swinton Park in North Yorkshire last August, but that didn’t stop the happiness and fun.

We captured some truly beautiful rain photos under the couple’s white umbrella – showing that rain does most certainly not stop play when it comes to wedding photography.

Swinton Park near Ripon is a magnificent setting for a wedding – a secluded luxury hotel set in 200 acres of parkland in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

A castle hotel, ancestral stately home and an top-notch wedding venue, its beautiful and unique setting certainly blew Rammina and Chris away on their first ever short break away as a couple. It was also the place where Chris asked Rammina’s dad for permission to propose, so only fitting that it would be the place they would get married.

The couple are doctors who met at Leeds University Medical School during the first week and were friends throughout their six years of training – although, they didn’t actually start dating until the day before they graduated.

The bride got ready in the Wensleydale Bridal Suite of Swinton Park Hotel with her bridesmaids Sarah, Hannah, Lydia, Emma, Franki, and maid of honour Raeeka.

Her gorgeous gown was by Stella York from Brides of Berkhamstead, her hair styled perfectly by Deborah Chalmers and lovely make up by Alexa Van Pagh.Swinton Park Wedding Photography

Meanwhile Chris and his best man Nik and ushers Henri, Richie, Richard, Andy and Paul were making the most of the sunny start to the day – arriving at the wedding venue in golfing buggy style!

The ceremony took place in the Library of Swinton Park, with music from the Groves String Quartet and Rammina’s entrance song Pachabel’s Canon in D.

Flowers were wonderfully arranged by Twisted Willow – with the table centre piece flowers and the bridal bouquet blowing guests away.

Rammina is of Persian heritage and the food was a simply amazing Persian wedding spread – known as sofreh aghd.

And, in the evening, there was a Persian Knife dance where the groom had to ‘prove his worth to the bridemaids’ before being provided with the cake knife to cut the cake with Rammina.

The couple’s shared love of wine was evident throughout the day with a burgundy and blush colour theme and many decorations handmade by Rammina out of wine corks – including a LOVE sign and place names.

A simply amazing day and one we were honoured to share. Super proud to know that Ryan Browne Photography was a hit with Rammina and Chris, too.

“We’re so pleased that we chose Ryan as our wedding photographer. On the day of the wedding he had a fun, charming yet incredibly calming manner and it was a pleasure to have him there. He managed to capture some really special moments that we can now look back on so fondly.”

“Even before the wedding, when we mentioned to our other wedding suppliers that he was our photographer, their responses were always overwhelmingly positive so we knew we’d chosen well. Much of our wedding was quite personal and homemade and we loved how he noticed and captured the finer detail.”

“We were blown away by the stunning photos which were really natural, yet artistic at the same time. The photo album was absolutely beautiful – the perfect way to treasure memories from our lovely day.”

And finally, we’re delighted to also share Rammina and Chris’s offical wedding film trailer, shot wonderfully by their videographer Story Of Your Day.
